The Tucano replica, in its experimental version with retractable landing gear and variable pitch in flight, reproduces the dream of flying a fighter airplane and the feeling to be a military pilot. The Flying Legend Tucano Replica is therefore an Italian light sports aircraft, designed and manufactured by the Flying Legend of Caltagirone (presented at the AERO fair in Friedrichshafen as early as 2011).

This is a full-scale replica of the Embraer EMB 312 Tucano turboprop trainer and features a low cantilever wing, an enclosed two-seat tandem cockpit, retractable tricycle landing gear and a single engine. A fixed undercarriage model was also developed for the US light sport aircraft (LSA) market.

The aircraft is made of 2024-T3 aluminum and 6061-T6 aluminum. Its 8.41 m wing has an area of ​​10.0 square meters and is fitted with fins.

Standard engines available are the 100 PS (75 kW) Rotax 912ULS four-stroke engine, with the 115 PS (86 kW) Rotax 914 engine and the optional 125 PS (93 kW) D-Motor LF39.

Il Tucano replica, nella sua versione sperimentale a carrello retrattile e con passo variabile, riproduce il sogno di volare un caccia e sentirsi un pilota militare.

Grazie alla sua struttura rinforzata e alle sue ali robuste, l’aereo vola stabilmente e permette di effettuare acrobazie basiche in totale sicurezza.

Una delle prime versioni

Il Flying Legend Tucano Replica è quindi un velivolo da sport leggero italiano, progettato e prodotto dalla Flying Legend di Caltagirone (presentato alla fiera AERO di Friedrichshafen già nel 2011). 

Si tratta di una replica in scala dell'addestratore turboelica Embraer EMB 312 Tucano e presenta un'ala bassa a sbalzo, una cabina di pilotaggio chiusa a due posti in tandem , carrello di atterraggio triciclo retrattile e un singolo motore . È stato sviluppato anche un modello a carrello fisso per il mercato statunitense degli aeromobili sportivi leggeri (LSA).

L'aereo è realizzato in alluminio 2024-T3 e alluminio 6061-T6. La sua ala di 8,41 m  ha una superficie di 10,0 metri quadrati ed è dotata di alette.
