Flying at Gillespie Airport (El Cajon - KSEE) - CALIFORNIA

Gillspie airport is my favourite airport in San Diego, probably the oldest, the city has more than 8 airports, and this one is the 44th busiest airport in the States. Obviuosly, Lindberg International is the primary aiport of San Diego, but the core of commercial aviation is here. i had my first experience here with the American Aviation Academy, at first sight you're impressed from the number of GA aircrafts on the aprons; I've never seen something like that in Italy.

The airport is the home of many companies and a lot of school, thereby you feel a little bit confused and disoriented at the beginning, but happy and willing to live that enviroment.

This is only one part of the Flight Line

Like in every American Airport, you can find cafe' (Gillespie Airport Cafe'), pilot's supply stores, flying schools, maintenance companies, big company's branches and commercial air activity in general. Nestled in the northwest corner of El Cajon, Gillespie Field is a gateway to the world. It’s an important part of its community.

AAA is just one of the Flight Schools at KSEE
One the busiest GA ATC Tower in US
The airport has 2 big runway, when we flew with Extra 300 we used both as well, with expensive aircrafts is another way to save taxi time and so money. After take off you can easily westbound reaching the cost, at North of Lindberg Intl Airport, and then southbound along the bay. On Coronado Bridge there is a big temptation to go under it, but YOU CAN'T! The best thing is to fly just at NorthEast of the the fields, beatiful hills and beautiful mountains with lake and reservoirs.
