Merville – Calonne Airport (IATA: HZB, ICAO:LFQT) is a regional airport in France. It is located 3 km (2 miles) south of Merville, in the Nord department of the Nord-Pas-de-Calais region in northern France.
The airport supports General aviation with no commercial airline service scheduled.
Originally built by Germans as a Luftwaffe airfield (Fliegerhorst Merville) as part of the defenses of the Pas de Calais area. Later converted by USAAF engineers into an allied airfield. The airport was used by the Royal Air Force as Advanced Landing Ground B-53 Merville.
Airfield has numerous wartime relics, including many bunkers
The airport has two runways oriented north-south (04/22):
A 1,840 by 30 metres (6,037 ft × 98 ft) paved runway featuring markup day and night, a precision approach path indicator (PAPI) for each landing direction, and an instrument landing system (ILS) associated with adistance measuring equipment (DME) for the landing direction 22.
A 1,000 by 80 metres (3,281 ft × 262 ft) grass runway.
